TRAX RECORD / VITTORE BARONI / PIERMARIO CIANI

TRAX RECORD
A networking project 1981-87 with diff. centres and over 500 participants.
A large collection of visual / audio publications in the form of xerographical books or
(B/W or colour) assemb- lings in portfolios, further in audio-cassettes, disks and videos.

TRAX is a modular system with illimitate composition where the units generate trax (could be a performance, a fanzine, a tape, a concert, poem, t-shirt, video, postcard etc.).
variable modular system with unlimited solutions.
Each Trax event or product was ideated and coordinated by a "Central Unit", with a variable number of participants called "Peripheral Units".
Unit 01 --> Piermario Ciani (photograph, copy-artist)
Unit 02 --> Vittore Baroni (journalist, mail-artist)
Unit 03 --> Massimo Giacon (illustrator, musicist)
Unit 04 --> Giancarlo Martina (teacher)
and so on..

TRAX is a contact web, mostly related with MAIL-ART.

modular videos, t-shirts, bags, belts and ear-rings were produced and marketed (even fake plastic potato-chips bags!).

The project had a beginning (June 1981) and an end (June 1987): Last Trax was the end of the project.

“Frizzer” , “Tempi Supplementari” and “Frigidaire” from 1985-86 published 'TRAXMAN' comics by V. Baroni (text), M. Giacon (drawnings).

Series of A/4 colour and B/W photocopies (hard porno motives), divided to images of 5x5 cm., manual interventions, idea & realization P. Ciani.
This is a modular composition with 5cm sided square of genitals pictures, it could be use as wallpaper, in a biggest texture. Watching it from far away they loose the sexual content and seems an usual decorative element.

Ciullini), featuring postcards from artists as well as a cassette tape of audio recordings. A postcard with an untitled poem by C. Mehrl and JMB is included. Other featured artists are Genesis P. RADAR / radar / 1982

I Radar sono un bizzaro gruppo, probabilmente milanese, bizzarro perchè oltre alla musica, testi e estetica, erano prodotti da una major: la WEA. I protagonisti sono: Nicola Salerno (voce, tastiere), Alessandro Ceradini (voce, chitarra), Vittorio Zibordi (sax, tastiere), Gionata Lao (basso) e Catone Muchetti (percussioni).
Yamaha CS80, Korg MS10, Roland Jupiter 4, batterie elettroniche, quest'album si muove tra la più becera new-wave (rock) italica e un interessante suono synth-etico. Non un disco duro e puro ma ricco di spunti in bilico tra demenziale e geniale.
'Una splendida emicrania' è assolutamente da annoverare come una delle migliori canzoni syntetizzate italiane, a me suona ancora moderna o sono troppo retrò?
